Hiii Im Troy Mclure,you may remember me from previous sites as the previous help site for UCV.Well folks I have returned to try to explain the magical word of downloading videos on irc to you once again.

First of all if you want on irc,you are going to have to download a program from http://www.mirc.com.I am not going to go into any detail about installing mirc and all that shizzy cause well I have better things to do.When you get the program installed and connected a EFnet server is where this help section kicks off.

First off when you are connected or not the very first thing you should do when you open MIRC is to go to DCC ->OPTIONS and then click on + beside DCC and select FOLDERS .In that option you will see something that says DCC IGNORE ,and it will have enabled below it,please make sure to click on the down arrow beside that word and select disable [see image below]

Now connect to your choice of servers that are available on EFnet,once you are connected,the fun begins,simply type /join #ucv in the little bar at the bottom of the screen.Upon joining you will be welcomed by a slew of coloured adds such as the ones pictured below.

Believe it or not those adds just arent there for show,they are the filservers of "Fservers" that hold the videos in which you want to download.In order to access these "fservers" you simply copy [to copy:click and drag your mouse over the words you want to copy] the trigger and then paste [to paste: hit ctrl then v on the keyboard] [see image below]

Now if all goes well you should see a box popup saying that the fserver wants to private chat session with you,just click accept

After accepting that hopefully you should be taken into a window that looks like the one below

Now that you are in the almighty fserver the hardest part is over.As you see in the above image I typed dir what this does is gives me a listing of whatever this particular fserver happens to have.[example below]

If you happen to see a video you want,what you have to do is agian some handy dandy copying and pasting.Simply copy[drag your mouse over the words] the file name only[dont copy the number on the end] like so

Now that you copied the file,click down into the chat box[long rectangle box along the bottom] and type get then paste [hit the ctrl then the V on your keyboard] the link.

Wow isnt this exciting,hardly but learning rarely is.Now that we have the file we wanted copied and pasted into the chat box with get in front of it we are ready to hit ENTER on the keyboard,this sends the command to the fserver to say "hey..send me this fucking video okay".By doing so the server should in turn reply with...[see image below]

Now if you see the above box you did everything right,if you dont,you suck and you fucked up somewheres along the line.Simply click accept and the video should start downloading [again look below for image]

Simple enough for ya?...but wait...just to fuck with your heads more if you look at the image with all the file names in it,you will see one file doesnt have a number after it and its in ALL CAPS..Why is this,well folks this is what you call a bootleg,it is a seperate folder inside the existing folder that usually holds more files.To access this folder you have to do more copying and pasting.Simply copy the folder name[the one in caps] then click down into the chat box and type cd then paste the folder name and hit Enter..like so..

Well holy shit,look at that it seems im now in that folder...now what do i do you ask.Why you just go back to using the commands we learned at first of this walkthrough.By typing dir once again,the server will list the files that are in this folder.In this case there is only one but there could be a million if need be.[translation of what i just said in picture form below]

As for how to get a video thats in these folders,well again it all falls back on the commands that you use.To get a video inside one of these folders you again use the get filename.mpeg then hit enter.[pretty picture below]

Again if you havent grasped the concept of getting videos by now,you are too stupid for irc and you should stick to kazaa.Whats that you ask? How do i get out of this folder and back to main folder that had all those other videos.Well you just type cd.. then hit enter and it should take you back.To list the files in the main folder you again just use the dir command.

Clear as mud eh?...Now everytime you type get is it going to send you a file right away,ucv is quite popular so there is a lot of fellow people like you out there trying to get the videos.Chances are most of the time when you try to get a video it will put you in a queue what this means is that basically it put you in a line up for the video,you just close the fserver off and wait your turn.When you turn comes up,it will send you the file,this may take 2 minutes or 200 hours,depending on your place in the queue and the peoples connections speeds that are ahead of you in the line.[graphical representation below]

As i stated above,when you it says you are queued you simply queue up another video or if you are only wanting the one,you can just close the window and /join #UCVchat to chat about shit while you wait for your turn.One thing i must stress is that you DO NOT BE IDLE IN THE FSERVER WINDOW go in,do your business and get out,because you are hogging up spots for other users like yourself who may be trying to get into that server.If you happen to get a message that says "Closing Connection In 30 Seconds",that simply means you are idling,either queue up another video or leave, the videos will still remain in the queue.

At anytime if you want to check what queue position you are in,you do so by accessing the same fserver[if you forget how to do this go back to the top of this page] that you queued the video in [in our case UCV-FSV00] and type queues.It will list all the queues that this particular fserver has and you just look in the list for your name..[purdy picture below]

Say you decide that you do not want the file you have queued in one of the fservers,well you again just access the fserver and type in clr_queues but be warned,this will clear ALL QUEUES you have in that particular fserver,not just the one you may not want.If there are ones you want to stay queued,you simply just wait for the video that you dont want,and when the fserver goes to send it to you,just click cancel on the download..problem solved.[nekkid chick pic below,maybe..maybe not]

If you still totally lost and can get into the fserver but dont know what the commands are again,just simply type help and it will list the commands for you...if you are totally lost and cant even get into the fserver,well you can /join #UCVchat and ask one of our resident assholes to assist you.

And on that note,what we have gone threw above is the whole process of downloading videos in #ucv..As I stated above,any questions or issues you may have you can very easily just join up to #ucvchat and ask and hopefully someone will be able to help you out..You can not chat or talk at all in #ucv because it is a downloading channel only,so if you ever get the message "cannot send to channel",thats the reason why.
